And that’s a wrap for … April

The calendar says it’s May so it must be true. It really doesn’t feel like it though. Where is Spring?! I miss blue skies and warm sunshine. I’ve barely been able to set foot in the garden. Pretty soon it’ll look like an impenetrable jungle*.

Nothing much to report for April. Some bad news, some potentially good news. A lot of “wait and see” and boy, am I good at that**.

Other than that, the OH is home a lot again due to an immensely toxic environment at his current job. I dare you to ask me how I feel about that. I mean, obviously I feel bad for him but just stop cutting into my me-time! 😂

Mostly April has been a lot of Lego, a lot of tennis, a lot of Millie (sorry for the lack of new pictures but this is one lazy dog and how many pictures of her sleeping can I possibly take?!) and books.

So, what did I read in April?

* Might be a slight exageration
** Not. So very much not.

BOOKS I READ IN APRIL

Wow, I finally hit that elusive 10. Kind of, since one was a DNF at the halfway mark. Still, I’ll take it.

BOOK OF THE MONTH

For its sheer entertainment and escapism. ‘Heresy‘ was a very close second, though.

BOOKS I BOUGHT IN APRIL

No. Your eyes are not deceiving you. The grand total of books bought last month is two. TWO! I feel utterly miserable 🤣. Since I’ve already read one of them my TBR is staying nicely balanced.

My camera roll is full of photos of a certain cat sleeping, so I’d say: a lot 🤷🏼‍♀️😂 Also, DNFs don’t count 😝 (*ducks and runs* 😂)

It’s just not the same without a Millie photo… I take photos of Poes every day and it’s not like she has the most exciting life either :-). A bit bummed that Harlan Coben is your pick of the month to be honest… I was invited to read it (because I read Win and loved that one) and provide my address or request on Netgalley. I requested it (because with customs you know) and then… nothing. Not approved nor declined. I even emailed back about it but no reply anymore. I think that I bought more books than you last month! What happened? Is it the presence of OH over your shoulder 😉 or just not feeling it? I’m kind of worried now.

Ugh, that sucks, Inge. Publishers are so messed up sometimes.

As for the books, budget cuts mostly. But May already looks … well, worse 🙊😂

I can’t wait for a steady few days of nice weather, yesterday was lovely and the sun was out, but today is bleugh… cold, wet, misty and miserable outside 🤨

That’s what we had this week too. One glorious day and poof, autumn returned. So sick of it.

It looks like you read some good books in April, Eva. I need to read that Coben book, he is an auto-read for me. We finally got some sunshine today, so with my phone and earphones, I listened to an audiobook while cutting the grass. Hopefully you weather improves as well.

One day of glorious sunshine and back to dark, miserable and wet. It’s making me grumpy 😉.

Hope you get around to reading Coben soon and that you enjoy it, Carla!

Haha, that’s exactly why I don’t bother taking photos of Tommy! They all look the same! Still, I tell myself that must mean he’s happy… 😉

I enjoyed I Will Find You as well! And I wouldn’t have minded a photo of Millie sleeping though. 😉 I hope the May weather will treat you better! xx

Okay, I get it. More Millie pictures, even if they’re boring 😂
