Fashionably Late : June Wrap-Up

If we could all just ignore how late this wrap-up is, that’d be great.

June was full of football, books, a Lego typewriter and Millie of course. I’ll have an update about her next month because if I don’t post this wrap-up today, it’ll never get posted.

So for now, on to the books!

BOOKS I READ

Some awesome, some not so much. And if only I had reviewed all of them, I’d be way ahead of my 20 Books of Summer Challenge. But no! That’s currently at a pathetic total of 4. [That was when I first wrote this wrap-up. I have now proudly arrived at the impressive number of …. 7 🤣.]

Anywho! Massive contender for book of the year on this list. Get your guesses in. Prize* will be awarded at the end of the month.

*There is no prize

WHAT I LISTENED TO

Goodness me, do I love a British accent or what?! *swoon*

I am *still* listening to David Copperfield. I can’t even remember when I started this but it was months ago. Late March or early April. And I still have 12 hours left. Still, enjoyable though and brilliantly narrated by Richard Armitage. [Also at the time of first writing this post. Much has changed since but you’ll have to wait for the July wrap-up.]

The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, on the other hand, super short! Also brilliantly narrated by Tom Mison, who played Ichabod on the tv series a few years ago. Not at all the creepy story I thought it would be but it’s definitely left me wanting to watch the show again. Especially as I don’t actually know how it ended.

BOOKS WHAT ACCIDENTALLY FELL INTO MY BASKET

Only 8. That’s not too shabby. Maybe I finally have my book buying impulses under control.

Bahahahaha! 🤣

RECEIVED FOR REVIEW

I’ve already read and reviewed one of those so that’s okay, right? Huge thanks to the publishers!

Anypoodle, that’s it for June. My mother-in-law is on her way, hence the rush job. I haven’t seen her since summer last year. Somehow that didn’t feel long enough yet 😳😂.

Wishing you all a fabulous Sunday! Until next time. xx

Book of the year already eh? Well I know it’s not Hostage or Truth Be Told, but not sure about the others, although I doubt it’ll be the Agatha Christie either. Hmm 🤔

You have the “not” ones correct 😂. I didn’t review it. Planned too but the words weren’t coming. That happens a lot when I really love a book.

Your book of the year, it’s true crime story, right? Well I hope it is 😊 I haven’t read it yet but I hear good echos about it. Also, I love your honesty at the end 😁 I look forward to your update on Millie next month!
