I’m thinking of booking a trip to Iceland, just to be able to cool off for a few days. So hot. Stepping outside feels like running face first into a brick wall. So what do I do when it’s too hot to move? I read, obviously, with a fan aimed right at me.
Although the past few days, I’ve also sat sobbing quietly in a corner envying my blogger buddies who are out having a fantastic time at Harrogate. Definitely one for the bucket list. John Grisham was there! JOHN GRISHAM! I can’t even … *blows nose*
Anyway, I managed to get through another 8 books this week. Woohoo!
Books I’ve read this week
Books I’ve bought this week
Erm. These and I also pre-ordered the new Sarah Hilary, which doesn’t have a cover yet and isn’t published until May. That doesn’t count, right? 🤔
ARC’s received via Netgalley
One for a blog tour, the other one caught my eye as I was scrolling and the description was even better.
Bookpost what landed on my doorstep this past week
I’ve been having some issues with my phone, which is what I use to take bookish pictures with so I don’t have any. Yet. But I received the finished paperback of The Confession by Jo Spain from the lovely people at Quercus and a copy of A Little Bird Told Me by Marianne Holmes from the wonderful people at Agora. Hopefully I’ll be able to show these soon either in my wrap-up or on Instagram.

Nothing to worry about. I have everything under control. *hyperventilates*
On top of all of that, I’d very much like to point out that I am currently reading book 11 for my 20 Books of Summer Challenge. I can still make it. Sometimes I surprise even myself. 😂
Right, that’s it for another week. I’m off to write up some reviews and then my current read and I are going outside for a nice baking session. I’d like to find out if I can really fry an egg on my stomach. 🤔
Have a fantastic week and lots of happy reading! xx
And I can recommend Iceland for a visit!

The Lido is wonderful, one of my top reads of the year. That’s a lot of blog tours you’re on. Somehow I seem to have booked myself in for five reviews this week, in the first week of the school holidays. Hmmm, I must be mad. Oh, and I too am sick of this heat. Let me know how the fried egg goes.

Oh no! That’s bad timing! If it helps, I accidentally joined a tour in the middle of my holiday in September. I hope there’s wifi 😂

Oh dear! Can you schedule your post? That’s what I would do, and schedule the tweets too.

I might do that if (and that’s a big if) I can actually get the book read before I leave 😂

Ah yes, that would be a problem I would have too. Always at the last minute me.

Eight books – wow! The heat is obviously doing something for your reading mojo. My sister went to Iceland on holiday recently and can definitely recommend it, not just for the cooler conditions. Plus land of the midnight sun and all that must mean more time for reading, yes?
I can authoritatively confirm that pre-orders with no cover yet definitely don’t count – nor do books won in giveaways or sent unsolicited by publishers. At least, that’s what I tell my husband. (And he doesn’t know the password for my Kindle so can’t check how many ebooks I have on there.)

It looks like a stunning country. I’d definitely like to visit it one day. And the midnight sun! I hadn’t even thought of that! That’s at least one book more! 😄
Oooh, sneaky. I wholeheartedly approve! I keep moving books around on my shelves so it looks like I have gaps that need filling 😉

It’s hardly worth frying an egg without a rasher or two of bacon to go with it! And don’t forget to take a pic… 😉

I hate the cold too but this heat is becoming mightily unbearable. Hope you find ways to start warm and cosy!

I really envy your ability to get through so many books a week – I only manage anything like this total if I’m on holiday! Fatal Inheritance is fab, I’ve recently finished it.
I’m up for a trip to Iceland too!

No demanding full-time job to deal with and a hubby who doesn’t care if our house is a total mess. These things help. 😄. For the past two years or so, I’ve actually read less on holiday but I’m not one of those people who lounges by a pool all day. I need to go out and see stuff.
I can’t wait for Fatal Inheritance to land on my doorstep. I loved A Dangerous Crossing!
Yay, another one for Iceland. Wonder if we can get a group discount 🤔

WOW how on earth are you able to juggle all those blog tours?! I would probably faint if I would only try and do half of them haha. Have a wonderful week! I can send you some of the cold weather we are having if you want? 😉

The Handmaid’s Tale was such a special read for me, VERY SLOW paced but quite revolutionary as a concept :O

All the buzz around the tv series (which I’ve not watched) made me so curious. I don’t actually really know what it’s about 😄
