Weekly Wrap-Up (July 8)

weekly-wrap-up

The heat continues to beat down and I’m quite obviously doing something wrong during my please-let-it-rain-today dance because it’s just not working.

Last weekend, my reading schedule took a huge battering when the OH’s stepbrother and his family showed up for an impromptu BBQ and promptly decided they had too much to drink so they were going to spend the night. I tried every subtle trick I could think of to get them to leave but to no avail. Two days of not reading a single page which meant falling behind once again and reading a book for a blog tour the day before my stop. I do not approve! Anyway, I survived and everything was posted on time.

Books I’ve read this week

All in all, six isn’t too bad, I suppose. Must not look at my schedule. 🙈

Books I’ve bought this week

NONE! Woohoo! Go me!

Apart from that wee twitch under my left eye, I’m not even really showing any serious withdrawal symptoms.

twitchy

ARC’s received via Netgalley

Also none! The request I had pending last week was denied. Not necessarily a bad thing since I don’t have a clue when I could have squeezed it in anyway. I do have one more request pending for the new Karin Slaughter. If I get that one, I may just combust.

Bookpost that landed on my doorstep this week

The Jack Jordan one is for a blog tour in August. The other one is a gorgeous proof copy of The Stranger Diaries by Elly Griffiths 😍

On the blog this past week

Monday : Joined the blog blitz for The Island Villa by Lily Graham

Tuesday : Hosted a stop on the blog tour for Her Name Was Rose by Claire Allan

Wednesday : Shared my review for Into The Darkness by Sibel Hodge and posted This Week in Books which I did stick to for a change because I didn’t have much of a choice 😄

Thursday : Joined the blog tour for When I Find You by Emma Curtis

Friday : Hosted a stop on the blog tour for The Perfect Friend by Barbara Copperthwaite and shared an extract for my stop on the tour for Safe Houses by Dan Fesperman

Saturday : Joined the blog tour for Gone To Ground by Rachel Amphlett

Sunday : Weekly Wrap-Up

Next week on Novel Deelights

Sheer madness. To name a few things, I’ll be joining the blog tour for No Further Questions by Gillian McAllister, I’ll be sharing my reviews for The Fifth To Die by J.D. Barker and Last Time I Lied by Riley Sager and I also have a cover reveal I’m incredibly excited about.

Funnily (not in the haha kind of way) enough, I could have sworn I took on less in July. Guess I was wrong. 🙄

Right, off to stick my nose into a book. My next read is for Tuesday, good grief. Wishing you all a fabulous week and lots of happy reading! xx

I wonder if the impromptu visit and stay was some sort of a rescue mission to ‘deal with your book addication’ :-). 6 novels is still almost one book a day so I wouldn’t be worried too much :-). It seems to me you work fine under pressure! Nice bookpost! I was invited for the blogtour for Before Her Eyes but still haven’t received a date so I don’t know if I’m on it or not with a content post. Happy reading this week and stop doing that raindance please, I like it fine how it is :-). Finally some use for half of my clothing :-).

I don’t have a date for Before Her Eyes yet either. But at least I have the book so I’m good to go, no matter what.

I’ll stop doing my rain dance. I love this weather too, even though it doesn’t sound like it. It’s the lack of sleeping that’s driving me crazier than I already am. I regularly have temperatures of 27-28 in my living room and it’s far, far worse upstairs. Still, we should enjoy it while it lasts! Happy (summer) reading! xx

Ah yes, I already read it via Netgalley so I declined the offer of the paperback ;-). Stupid me probably :-). We should indeed enjoy it while it lasts, I love that it doesn’t end each day with thunderstorms 🙂

It’s not too bad, I suppose. The Fifth To Die was quite long as well. Still, I’d quite like to have at least seven per week because my schedule is so mental. 😄

me neither! I tried not to browse in Amazon or go to the library for the same! It is easier to resist temptation like that XD

I’ll join you in that rain dance! And I’ll do an extra dance of ‘Mother Nature, take it down a degree or 5’!

Also, well done on not buying any new books! 😁

I’d be okay with that! I can’t even go sit outside most days as it’s just unbearable and I actually love the heat!

Good job! You seem to have caught up and kept your schedule. I’m not as fast catching up. You still turned out a fine post!

Thank you! I have stuck to the schedule which is an immense relief. But I’m still only a day ahead on things and that really needs to change. Have a great week! x
