Weekly Wrap-Up (June 24)

Well, I have no idea what happened to this week. It started and then, poof, it was over. Between watching football and trying to fit in some reading, I’ve accomplished absolutely nothing. I’m not even sorry.

Summer seems to have taken a hike. We’ve had grey weather and some freakish gusts, which at one point resulted in my barbecue going for a stroll around the patio. I thought I’d lost another marble which is scary as I don’t seem to have that many anymore anyway. 🤣

Anyway! On to the books!

Books I’ve read this week

Bit embarrassing. I totally blame the World Cup. Who the heck arranges three matches in one day?! Hashtag not sorry.

Books I’ve bought this week

I was doing so well not buying any! I held out until Friday but then I decided now was as good a time as any to complete my Fredrik Backman set. Also hashtag not sorry. 😂

Seriously, Bookouture. We’re going to have to sit down and have a chat.

Bookpost that landed on my doorstep this week

Now this doesn’t happen often but there’s only one for a blog tour. Really excited about all of these!

On the blog this past week

Monday : Kicked off the week with a stop on the tour for the fabulous The Tall Man by Phoebe Locke

Tuesday : Joined the blog blitz for the gripping Nobody’s Child by Victoria Jenkins

Wednesday : Joined the blog tour for To Die in Vienna by Kevin Wignall and shared my Week in Books, which as per usual I didn’t stick to 🙄

Thursday : Posted my review for the brilliant Us Against You by Fredrik Backman

Friday : Shared my thoughts on the equally brilliant Skin Deep by Liz Nugent

Saturday : Joined the blog tour for the heartbreaking Missing Pieces by Laura Pearson

Sunday : Weekly Wrap-Up

Next week on Novel Deelights

Oh, nothing much. Just you know, eight blog tours. 🙄. In my defence though, only three have reviews and I’ve read two of them already. Anywho, look out for an extract from Murder on the Green by H.V. Coombes, my review of the mind-blowing The Date by Louise Jensen and much more.

Question of the week : I’ve been going back and forth on joining the Book of the Month Club at Goldsboro Books for almost a year now and while I’m insanely tempted, I just can’t seem to decide what to do. So, are you a member? Is it worth it? Should I just do it because it’s books after all?

Right, I’m off to lunch with friends. There will be wine. Yay! Unfortunately, there will also be two wee (and really loud) persons under the age of ten. I’m getting a headache just thinking about it 😂

Hope you all have a fabulous week and lots of happy reading! See you next week! xx

I’ve never watched so much football than since I came here xD THE DATE!!!!!!! My review is up now! I had another hiccup with WordPress so it did not go live at 6am. But it’s okay, it’s Sunday, haha!
    Have a great lunch! xx

Only you could be on 8 blog tours when there’s only 7 days in a week, haha!
I absolutely recommend Goldsboro BOTM, I love it! And the good thing is, you can skip a month if the book doesn’t appeal to you! I was looking for a monthly book box to subscribe to but decided to go with G. BOTM instead and I regret nothing!

      😂 I got skillz!

I think I’m going to do it. The temptation is just too big to ignore.

Lunch, wine, football and books – sounds like a brilliant week. I’m looking forward to your review of The Date. The cover and blurb of this book sounds amazing.
Your doorstep books look really good too. The footie has halted my reading and blogging a bit!

      The Date is insanely good!

I’m glad the footie is down to two matches per day this week. I really have to get my reading on again!

Have a great week, Amanda! xx

I’ve thought about joining a book of the month club, but who am I kidding? With all of the tbr books surrounding me, I’ll probably not stick to my book of the month and it might wind up hanging out, waiting to get read like all the rest. That’s just my personal situation though. 😊

I can understand that. I’m pretty sure I’ll never read all the books on my shelves but that doesn’t mean I’ll stop adding to them 😉

It has been odd for weather here also! The rain and grey is normal, but we had two thunderstorms in one week (which excites me because I actually miss them) and they are very rare here. 8 tours!? Animal haha. Have a wonderful week 🖤

I hate thunderstorms. They freak me out. 😂
Our weather is changing though. We have a mini heatwave arriving this week. 32°C by Sunday. I’ll probably be complaining then as well 😉

As much as I would love to join BOTM I have so many books already begging to be read 📚😉 The other thing is the cost of the books on my very limited book buying budget 😩😘

      Yes, it’s quite costly. But they’re books and they’re pretty and … did I mention they’re books? I don’t think I can resist 😂

If you give the wee people enough of the wine, they’ll probably become quiet after a while… 😈🍾

I see the attraction of things like the Book of the Month Club, but really, do we need more books?? *jumps swiftly out of punching range*

You’re a lot smarter than I am. I, on the other hand, joked around about having three different desserts and wasn’t quite prepared for the emotional outburst that happened when their mum said “no”. 🤣😂

Do I need more books? No. But do I want them? Yes, please! 😊

Hahahaha!! 🤣🤣 Their mum must love you! Next why don’t you offer them a puppy… 😉
