I wasn’t sure if I’d do a wrap-up this week since I already posted two reviews today but whatever. I actually really enjoy doing these and I hope you enjoy reading them as well. So here we go.
What a week. I could say a lot but I’m not going to. I’m not a very diplomatic person at the best of times and it’s tough to get your opinion across via the written word without potentially causing any more problems. For my own sanity though, or what’s left of it, I will be stepping away just that little bit more from all things social media. You know where to find me 😉
At the start of the week, our boiler decided to pack it in and retire. No heating (not so bad), no hot water (very bad). Luckily our plumber was able to install a new one the next day. But for me, that meant three days in a row of getting up early, which is a total nightmare. Not only am I a night owl but what little sleep I get is also ridiculously sucktastic. Needless to say I was just a wee bit grumpy and the week seemed to drag on and on. Still, it’s finally Sunday. Of the bad, I have a birthday party to attend and do that pesky social thing. Of the good, the sun is out and there will be plenty of wine. 🍾
Reading-wise, another fab week. And another seven books under my belt, including two for the 20 Books of Summer Challenge so at least I won’t be failing that one as miserably as I thought I might. 😄
Books I’ve read this week
Books I’ve bought this week
Every time I tell myself to buy less books, I seem to end up buying more. Maybe I should apply reverse psychology to myself. 🙄

Oops. Five in total but the new Mark Edwards doesn’t have a cover yet. And I’ve already read two of these so that’s okay, right? Right? Anyone? *crickets* Ugh.
Bookpost that landed on my doorstep this past week
Oh, what an incredibly lucky blogger I am! I may have made a sound only dogs can hear when the new Louise Beech arrived. That was a massive surprise. The other two are for blog tours. Because I can’t help myself.
On the blog this past week
Monday : Review The Retreat by Mark Edwards
Tuesday : Shared my review for Jane Seymour : The Haunted Queen by Alison Weir
Wednesday : Reviewed Little Fires Everywhere by Celeste Ng and posted This Week in Books
Thursday : Joined the blog blitz for Carpenter Road by N.M. Brown
Friday : Hosted a stop on the blog tour for Big Sister by Gunnar Staalesen
Saturday : Double Random Things Tour whammy with the blog tours for Rogue by J.B. Turner and Body Heat by Candy Denman
Sunday : No rest for the wicked. 😄. Joined the blog tour for Love Will Tear Us Apart by Holly Seddon, reposted my review for Thirteen by Steve Cavanagh for the blog tour celebrating the paperback launch and wrapped up the week.
And … breathe. Whew.
Next week on Novel Deelights
Do I really need to say it? Blog tours. Yes. But only six. Haha. Hahahaha. *ahem*
I’ll be kicking off the week with the delightful The Forgotten Guide to Happiness by Sophie Jenkins. I’ll also be joining the tours for the brilliant Mine by Susie Fox and the tearjerker that is A Mother’s Goodbye by Kate Hewitt. Must catch up on reviews.
And that’s it for another week! There’s a glass of wine with my name on out there so I’m out of here. Have a great one and lots of happy reading! xx
It’s been one of those weeks!

Some good books read! It will be interesting to hear your thoughts on Love Will Tear Us Apart, as it has got a lot of positive publicity and I am considering reading it.

When life throws things at you, it’s good there are books to rely on. Happy reading!

Oh no! It sounds like it has been a “dramatic” week? Well at least that is what always tends to make me pack it in with social media 🖤😉 I am glad the boiler issue is now resolved as that sounds like a nightmare. Enjoy the wine at the party! I hope you share your thoughts on Needful Things!

Well, yes, but you are living the glamorous life in London! I doubt I’d read at all if that was me 😂

I wonder if reverse psychology would work? Try next week saying you can buy / request as many books as you like?…….could be dangerous or could be brilliant!
Hope next week is good for you.

Not such a crummy week, look at all you read, did, enjoyed, received. OH! I must know what you thought of Barbara’s (Copperthwaite) new book. I do enjoy that author!

My review for the new Copperthwaite won’t be posted until July as I joined the blog tour for it but I devoured it one afternoon and loved it.

Sun, parties and wine sound good so hope that makes up for the not so good parts of the week. Like you, I also grabbed Mark Edwards new book, A Perfect Friend A Mothers Goodbye. I hope that we will both enjoy all three. Have a wonderful week, Eva.
