Weekly Wrap-Up (April 8)

weekly-wrap-up

Spring has sprung and I am one happy bunny to finally see the back of the winter season.  Nothing much else to report this week. I have no idea where it went. One minute it was Monday and now it’s Sunday. Other than reading, I’ve not done anything productive and I’m totally okay with that. *kicks dust bunnies under the carpet*

So, what have I read this week, I hear you asking.

Books I’ve read this week

Seven isn’t too shabby. Could have had eight but I got massively distracted on social media for a few hours 😄

Books I’ve
bought this week

Oh. This is bad. So very bad. I don’t know really know what happened but in my defence, I’ve read the Joseph Knox books already and just wanted the hardcovers. And the four books in the Charlie Parker series are totally Jen’s fault. And Wuthering Heights, well, I’ve never read that one and that cover just yelled at me “buy me! buy me!” and really, who am I not to listen? The other ones jumped into my shopping basket and wouldn’t bloody move so in order to avoid a scene, I bought them. True story. 😳

ARC’s received via Netgalley

You’d think with the amount of books I’m buying, I wouldn’t request anything, wouldn’t you? But no. I can’t even use the blog tour excuse this week. However, who could possibly resist the urge to request The Fifth to Die?! If you’ve read The Fourth Monkey, then you’ll totally understand! I didn’t think I had a hope in hell of getting it so I may have fainted when the approval email landed in my inbox.

On the blog this past week

You know, I’m pretty sure there was a moment where I said I might consider slowing down just a little bit. Anyone hear that? *crickets* Hm.

Monday : Shared my review for The Lullaby by Leïla Slimani

Tuesday : Joined the blog tour for Too Close to Breathe by Olivia Kiernan

Wednesday : I was on the blog blitz for The Next Girl by Carla Kovach and posted This Week in Books

Thursday : Reviewed the fantastic The Smiling Man by Joseph Knox

Friday : Joined the blog tour for 88° North by J.F. Kirwan

Saturday : Shared an extract for my stop on the blog tour for Bryant & May : Hall of Mirrors by Christopher Fowler

Sunday : Hosted the final stop on the blog tour for Lying to You by Amanda Reynolds

Next week on Novel Deelights

Another full schedule. A few blog tours, of course. Look out for The Stranger by Kate Riordan and the Ice Swimmer by Kjell Ola Dahl. I’ll also be sharing my reviews for Deadly Secrets by Robert Bryndza (I’d really like it if autocorrect would stop changing that to Brenda behind my back 🙄) and Drift, Stumble, Fall by M. Jonathan Lee.

In other news : Novel Deelights has been nominated for a Bloggers Bash Award in the Hidden Gem category. Squee! Thank you very much to those who nominated me! You rock my socks off! 😍

If you feel so inclined to vote for my blog, you can do so by clicking HERE. I’d be really grateful but I’d equally appreciate it incredibly if you vote for any of the other blogs that take your fancy. Bloggers rock and each and every one of them deserves to be recognised for all the hard work they do in spreading the book love!

Also, for those wondering why I’m not talking to them on Twitter, I’ve been in twitter jail since Thursday and have apparently broken a long list of rules as I can’t seem to make my way back out. So I apologise for not being able to share your blog posts or interact in any way. Fingers crossed I’ll be back soon!

And that’s a wrap! Wishing you all a fabulous week and lots of happy reading! xx

Congratulations on the nomination and it’s so good to hear I’m not the only one who has autocorrect difficulties 😂

      Thank you!

It’s so annoying! There are times when I know I typed something right, then read things over and see a word that’s nowhere near what I want to say! Happened in a review once for Bookouture. I knew the author’s name was Kerry but autocorrect changed it to Kelly and I didn’t notice until Kim messaged me 🙄🤣

Not at all! It’s Houghton Mifflin Harcourt on the US site. It’s not being archived until August so it should still be there 🙂

Congratulations on the nomination Eva and very well deserved I might add. So jealous I missed out on The Fifth To Die one of the perils of keeping away from NetGalley 🙈😥

Aw, thank you, lovely Lorraine! 😘

I think The Fifth to Die might still be available for request but I only found it on the .com site. Not that I’m trying to tempt you or anything 😉

I don’t really understand how it works either. Obviously, or I would have found a way to avoid it by now 🙄😄

Thank you, sweets! You too! 😘

It did it once in the topic and I tweeted it without noticing. Never deleted something so fast in my life! 😂
