It’s snowing! Enough said about that. I suppose it’s better and way prettier than rain.
I didn’t do a wrap-up last Sunday because of stuff so this week, you get a twofer! Also last week, my reading slump went from bad to worse. Never mind a book just not taking my fancy and trying something else. I just didn’t feel like picking one up to begin with. At all! So I didn’t, apart from two I absolutely had to read for blog tour commitments. Things are better this week though and I managed 6 and a half books. Almost back to normal. 😄
Books I read the last two weeks
Books I bought
I went ahead and bought the entire Dark Iceland series. I have no idea when I’ll get around to reading any of them but there you go. I also fixed the gap in my Stuart MacBride collection.
ARC’s received via Netgalley
Three for blog tours, one I was invited to read and then I nearly passed out when I was approved for Perfect Death.
On the blog this past week
I’m not doing a wrap-up of last week’s posts or I’ll still be here tomorrow. 😄
Monday : I was on the blog tour for The Secret Child by Kerry Fisher
Tuesday : Joined the blog tour for Breaking Bones by Robert White
Wednesday : This Week in Books which I stuck to as well. Proud moment. 🤣
Thursday : Hosted a stop on the blog for The Other Mother by JA Baker
Friday : Shared my review for the brilliant Dark Pines by Will Dean
Saturday : Joined the blog tour for The Runaway Children by Sandy Taylor
Sunday : Wrap-Up time
Next week on Novel Deelights
Only three blog tours next week : The Silent Children, Foul Trade and Tall Chimneys. And only one blog tour the week after that! There is light at the end of the tunnel 😂. (Whatever you do, do not ask about my January schedule 🙄).
I’m also hoping to join in with something called Reading Bingo and I’m working on my post of favourite books of the year but that’s not going so well right now. I’m considering doing a Top 100. 😂
That’s it for another week. I’m off to snuggle under a blanket on the sofa with my doggie, a nice cup of tea and a book.
Wishing you all a great week and lots of happy reading! xx
Snowing here too. A blanket, the dog and tea sound perfect any day of the week 🙂

That’s very true! I don’t really need the snow as an excuse either. 😄

No indeed 😁 any excuse will work.

No snow here just a F9 gale! How about doing your favourite books in genres so then you could choose 100? 😃

Top 10 is difficult, Reading Bingo much easier (relatively). I took a blog tour break in December but, like you, the schedule in January is a different story… It’s snowing here too currently.

I’m missing one square for the bingo but yes, that was much easier. I’ve been working on my favourites of the year this morning and I *think* I have my 10. It hurt being so ruthless 😄

Same here, I feel guilty about the great books I’ve left off my list.

Oh, what square are you missing? I think the author under 30 is often difficult. I think I only had one candidate for that one.

That’s the one. I don’t have a clue about author’s ages!

I had a guess and got lucky, found in their bio when they graduated from university and worked it from there. But of course if you can’t find the info neither can anyone else so you could always wing it!

I started doing my “books of the year” and promptly gave it up as being too hard! 😀 I’ll have to do it at some point, but that’s a problem for future Jo…

😂. Poor future Jo! It’s incredibly hard! Such a great year!

I’m a fan of Stuart McBride as well.. still have to read some of them though ;-). Amazing that you got approved for Perfect Death! These days it’s even harder than before to get your wish granted :-). I hope I’ll be able to read the first one of this series soon :-). Happy reading this week, glad to hear your reading slump was very brief!

I’ve heard it said that it’s harder for some on Netgalley but to be honest, I’ve not noticed it. Yet. 😄

Can you please send some snow down here? There’s a heatwave going on currently and I’m melting. xD I’m actually starting The Silent Children tonight! Looking forward to it. I hope you’ll have a great week! xxx

I thought I hated the cold until the 35+°C started making their appearance again… I never thought I would say this, but I really prefer winter right now haha. xD

You don’t get snow where you are? Ever? This is quite rare for us. We had a lot and it’s still there.
Wishing you a wonderful week as well! xx
