Weekly Wrap-Up (August 13)

weekly-wrap-up

Summer doesn’t seem to have any intention of heading my way this year and it’s been another dark, dreary and wet week. On top of that, I’m also still stuck in twitter jail.

All of this means that I managed to read 8 books this week.

Books I read this week :

Books I bought this week :

Hm. Well. You know, I’m beginning to think I’ve actually been buying more books since my self-imposed book buying ban. 😂

ARC’s received via Netgalley :

None! I did request one but didn’t get it. I have one book left on my shelf which I will be reading soon. I’m determined to have an empty shelf before I leave on holiday. I currently have a 96% rating and also got my 50 reviews badge. I’m feeling quite accomplished. 😄

Bookpost that arrived this week :

I received Between Sister from the publisher and Final Girls via a book swap group.

On the blog this past week :

Monday : Shared my review for Pocketful of Dreams

Tuesday : Hosted a stop on the blog tour for Hit

Wednesday : Reviewed The Good Daughter

Thursday : Shared my thoughts on Dead Girls Can’t Lie

Friday : Reviewed A Killer Harvest

Saturday : Shared my review for Another Woman’s Husband

Sunday : Weekly Wrap-Up

Next week on noveldeelights :

Next week, Bookouture is keeping me busy with three blog and blitz tours, for The Good Sister, Dead To Me and Buried Secrets. I’ll also be sharing my review for the incredibly harrowing The Unquiet Dead.

In other news, I’ll obviously be a bit more quiet on twitter. I know I said I was going to spend less time there anyway but this isn’t exactly what I had in mind. I don’t know what’s going on, nor do I know how to fix it. I have a support ticket in but twitter is notorious for not getting back to you, no matter how you try to contact them. In the meantime, I’m trying to figure out how to avoid this in future. I’m fairly sure it’ll involve sharing less of your awesome blog posts which makes me angry. On top of that, it means having to pick and choose and I have no idea how to go about that. I have however decided that I will not be tweeting blog links for tag/award posts anymore and I’m making a conscious attempt to leave comments more often on blogs that I follow.

So naturally, in light of all of this, the Question of the Week  is : how do you handle twitter and sharing blog posts?

That’s it for another week. Have a great one and happy reading! xx

Some good books there, and 8 books!! Wow that is a lot of reading.
As for sharing posts and Twitter. Personally I share less posts than others. But the ones I share are my favourite bloggers which I comment on too. I guess if you are used to sharing loads, it will be difficult to cut back, but just share your favourite I guess. Is that like choosing your favourite books….. to many to choose 😄
Good luck, hope Twitter is kinder to you next week.

Ha! Yes! Too many to choose from! And when someone shares my posts, I feel bad for not sharing these. I really need to find a way to get rid of this guilt feeling 😂

Wow a great bookish week you’ve had and only one book left on your NetGalley shelf!!! 😲 I hit 50 reviews as well this week but I’m only at 68%. Missing you on Twitter and hope you get out of jail soon! 😉

Yay for the 50 reviews badge! Well done! Let’s just ignore the 68%. 😉. I miss you guys too and I feel I’m missing out on a lot as well. I can’t even comment when a publisher asks for bloggers because they can’t see me 😂

Great book haul there! Feeling your frustration & pain with twitter- it’s terrible but don’t feel guilty- we are all in the same boat and all feeling cautious so everyone understands xxxxx

True that. Thank you, Katherine. I seem to have found a way to get around it for now, even if it means spending way more time on twitter than I want to. xx

What a pain about Twitter :/ I’m trying to wind down a little because I don’t get time to join in the Facebook groups and have a bit more reading time….we’ll see how that goes 😅

You’re a Netgalley superstar! I’m currently at nine pending books and trying really hard to get it below five… Although I might have to sit on hands, toes and just about everything else to stop myself from requesting more haha. I hope you’ll have a wonderful week! ❤

Wow! How do you keep 96% on NetGalley? You must never DNF ARC’s. That’s impressive.

I’ve only been a member since March and I’ve DNF’d only one in that time. I’ve just been very lucky in that I seem to request the right books for me.

96% on NetGalley is amazing, I’m still striving to get beyond 76% and back up to 80%.

Gosh you did really well. Clearly Twitter is a big distraction for us all. I can see posts from you on Twitter though? A great selection of books.

Yes, my tweets would show up on your feed/timeline but if I were to tag you, it wouldn’t show up in your notifications. Seems to be working fine again now though 🙂

What a brilliant bookish week you’ve had!
I’m taking the same sort of approach with twitter, commenting more on blogs & sharing less on Twitter. Feels like I’m betraying folk by not sharing 😞

It feels awful picking and choosing but there’s no other way. I am enjoying the interacting though, even if it’s taking away precious reading time.

You’ve been a very busy reader Eva…wow..v impressed! With regard to Twitter we’ve all learned so much. A distressing frustrating experience. Not being able to share EVERYBODY’S post is beyond difficult and it’s actually v v hard…more guilt!!! But I do think in the long run we will make it work and sure our feeds will look fab, you’ll get more people interested in you and your stats will jump up!! OK. ..am I being too positive?!? X

Haha – book bans always end up making me buy more books too! Sorry about your Twitter problems. I’m not an enthusiastic twitterer but it would still annoy me if I couldn’t use it at all. Hope it gets sorted soon!

Seems to be working okay this week. It just means spending more time there and interacting with folks instead of just sharing blog posts.
