In case you missed it, it was superduper hot as a heatwave hit these shores so there was lots of ice-cream and very little sleep. The weather has done a complete u-turn and now I’m cold. I swear I was born in the wrong country. So, warm and sunny weather and of course, all those people who don’t have a garden come and hang out in yours. Bye bye reading time, which means I managed to read 7 books this week. Technically, seven and a half as there was one I didn’t finish but I’m not listing that one. And yes, I know, that’s not bad but I was kind of aiming for 9. 😄
Books I read this week :
Books I bought this week :
Only 1 since a little birdie told me last week that e-books don’t count. 😂 Although, as promised, I tried that theory out on the OH and failed miserably!
ARC’s received via Netgalley :
Technically, two. Because the last one is for a blog tour. I love how I’m constantly trying to find excuses.
This week’s book post :
I won a signed paperback of Exquisite over on My Reading Corner and Karen also kindly sent me her copy of The Friend. Camino Island was a bookdepository order that arrived this week and What She Lost was sent to me by the author.
On the blog this past week :
Monday : Reviewed One Wrong Turn
Tuesday : Hosted a stop on the A Deadly Game blog tour
Wednesday : Another blog tour, this time for Wolves in the Dark and This Week in Books
Thursday : I hosted a stop on the blog tour for Safe With Me and Christine shared her thought on Stateroom Tryst
Friday : Yes, another blog tour. This time for Guilty and I was tagged for The Mid-Year Freak Out Book Tag which did indeed make me freak out.
Sunday : Shared my review for the brilliant Katharine of Aragon by Alison Weir and posted my Weekly Wrap-Up. Then I had a nap. Zzzzzzz.
Next week on noveldeelights :
I’ll be hosting stops on blog tours every day except for Friday. I don’t even know how that happened but there you go. Here’s a spoiler : one of them is an absolute corker!
In other news, I managed to get the Top Reviewer badge on Netgalley. I may have patted myself on the shoulder.
Question of the week : Why are some ebooks so expensive? No, really, why? I saw one a while ago that was listed at $20! Do you think it’s right that you sometimes pay the same price for an ebook as for a paperback? If the prices are nearly the same, do you opt for the ebook or the paperback? I tend to not want to pay more than $10 for an ebook. Especially when you can get the paperback for less sometimes, depending on where you shop. So, thoughts?
Have a stupendously awesome week and happy reading! xx
I begrudge paying more than £1.99 for an ebook! If an ebook is, for example, £4.99, I’d rather pay the additional £3 or whatever to get the paperback. I think it’s psychological, haha, if you’re paying that little bit more, you want something physical you can hold lol

Oh, you are cheap! 😂. But I do get it. I may have to rethink my $10.

Not cheap, I prefer the term economical 😂 I just think if I’m going to spend any more than that, I might as well buy the paperback

I have a limit of £4 for an e-book. I know there are endless arguments about how just as much work from the author goes into an ebook as a paperback and I don’t doubt that but I would rather pay a few pounds more and buy the paper version knowing that I own it and can do what I like with it. You don’t ‘own’ ebooks – you only have a licence to read them and if Amazon decide to close my account for whatever reason I would lose them all.

I never even thought of that! Right, guess I’m making space for paperbacks. 😄

You can send some of the hot weather down here if you want to! I hate the cold winter months… 😉 And seven books is still an amazing number though. My week has been slooooow so far since it took me ages (read, 4 days) to just finish one ARC. I have Watching You on my kindle as well. 😉 I hope you will enjoy your week and happy reading! ❤

A nice load of books as always. Since when don’t ebooks count?! 😉
I like ebooks because they are cheaper than paperbacks. If the prices were the same I would buy paperback every time.

Wow, 7 books in immense Dee! I felt chuffed when I managed 4 the other week but this week I’ve had a lot to deal with at home (teen troubles :() so it’s been 2. I’m the same where ebooks are – if I’m paying more then a couple of £, then I want something I can physically hold, smell, see haha!

Sorry to hear about the teen problems. Hope things settle down soon! 😘

I hardly finished 2 and you “managed” 7 haha. I love it! I think we stole the heat. Is an unbearable 90+ here now. I cannot even go out or travel when it is like this.

I couldn’t go outside either. It’s like there was no oxygen in the air. Horrible.

It has finally cooled down here 🙂

So many books…do you sleep? I have always wondered about the costs of evokes. If I was paying more than £5 I would buy the physical book.
